Boys soccer season comes to a close after shootout

The Benilde- Saint Margret’s boys soccer team was eliminated from the path to state with a nail-biting section semi-final defeat to Breck. The game was as close as could be, with Senior Bright Rwagatare scoring the Red Knights’ only goal during the first half. Some interesting calls were made by the match official but nevertheless Breck player Jack Dickinson equalized the score for the Mustangs 1-1 in the middle of the second half. The game went into overtime which lead to some close chances for both sides but ultimately led to a penalty shoot-out that the Red Knights lost 3-1. “We controlled the game for the first half as long as most of the second half, but just could finish enough of our opportunities,” senior Abe Fortier said.
