Last Monday, the BSM community welcomed 450 Lasallian educators from different schools around the Twin Cities; De La Salle, Holy Family, Totino Grace, and Cretin-Derham Hall, and our very own Benilde-St. Margaret’s. “These Lasallian educators have open-hearts and inspiring spirits for all their students,” Senior High Assistant Principal, Dr. Weingartz said.

This event is called the Lasallian Hearts on Fire Conference, and has a main goal of gathering in prayer, connecting with one another, and listening to speakers. “This is the second time this event has taken place because it happens every other year. We hosted in 2017 too and the principals from all of the schools orchestrated this event,” Dr. Weingartz said.

The Lasallian Hearts on Fire Conference took place in the theatre and classrooms at BSM. In the theatre, there was a motivational speaker, Roy Petitfils, that shined light on mental health. “A big thing going on today is that the students and their mental health. The importance of their mental health should be our top priority and Petitfils taught us more about how we as educators have to keep that in mind and learn strategies in the classroom to help our students,” Weingartz said.
