After rolling to a 6-1 start on the season, the BSM softball team dropped a game to Chaska at home 8-6 on Thursday, April 23.  After both teams scored two runs in the first inning, the Red Knights had a three-run third inning to go ahead 5-2.  BSM stayed ahead 6-4 through five innings, but two runs in the sixth and seventh innings for the Hawks drove them to an 8-6 road victory.  As for team stats thus far this season, senior captains Maddie Houlihan and Lizzie Huether rank second and fifth, respectively, in batting average in the Metro West Conference.  Junior pitcher Lilly Johnson ranks first in the Metro West in strikeouts.
