The BSM Boys’ Hockey Varsity team lost 5-2 at Blaine, while the JV team won 6-1 earlier on January 21, 2014. For the Varsity side, an early goal 35 seconds in the first period by senior captain Mark Kaske, with assists by fellow captain Chase Jungels and Carter Roo, put the Red Knights on top 1-0. Blaine responded by scoring two in the first period and their third in the second period to go ahead 3-1. About halfway through the third period, Kaske and Roo assisted Jungels to get within one, but Blaine would not relinquish their lead as they score two more to end the Red Knights’ four-game win streak. “Through persistence in practice, we were able to score on a below average team,” sophomore goalie Alex Brigino said.
