“Food Fight” proves successful

On Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25, the BSM student council led a food fight to see who could raise the most food for local food shelves around the Twin Cities.  News anchors Julie Nelson and Randy Shaver represented the Junior and Senior High teams, respectively.  It was a close battle, and the students combined to donate over 1.4 million pounds of food to Second Harvest Heartland, and as expected Shaver’s Senior High Team beat the Junior High.  “I was surprised with how much food we collected unanimously because there was such short notice so we actually made a significant amount of food for the situation,” sophomore student council member Joe Blake said.
