Over the weekend, the BSM girls’ hockey team won back to back games on Friday and Saturday. The Red Knights started their weekend by facing off against Minneapolis at Parade Stadium on Friday night. Minneapolis scored one goal early in the first period, but the Red Knights quickly responded and went on to score seven unanswered goals. Goals were scored by Grace Peluso, Sydney Simone, Xandi Swedberg, Ellie Bahr, and Crystal Sorem; Swedberg and Bahr both fell one short of a hat trick.

The Red Knights continued their hot streak on Saturday against the Holy Angels Stars. Sydney Simone from BSM scored the first goal of the game, but the Stars retaliated later in the first period. At a score of 1-1, the game was quiet throughout the second period until Holy Angels pulled ahead at the beginning of the third, but Xandi Swedberg tied it up again just a few minutes later. The game was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation. Sydney Simone scored the game winner four minutes and fifty seconds into the first overtime– her second goal of the game.
