Girls swim and dive finds success across the border

The BSM girls’ swim and dive team took their talent out of state to Cedarburg High School– just north of Milwaukee– on Saturday, October 4, where they obtained 4th place at the Cedarburg Invite.  The Red Knights saw many high finishes in the meet, including in the 50 free, where sophomore Claire Torgerson got 5th place and eighth grader Ava Schieffert won 8th.  Torgerson and Schieffert also both did well in the 100 fly, winning 3rd and 5th respectively.  The 200 free also proved to be a powerful event for the Red Knights, with junior Grace Hedin earning 5th and sophomore Madison Semler getting 6th.  In addition to these high finishes, several girls bested their previous times in many events, including sophomore Gracey Scott in the 100 yard freestyle and fellow second year high schooler Josie Ross in the 200 yard freestyle.  With the 4th place finish Saturday and a blowout win over Bloomington Kennedy two days before that, the girls feel that they are back on track.  “It is great to come back with a 4th place finish after the win against Kennedy.  It was a fun experience because we got to hang out with our team,” Ross said.
