Girls’ soccer clinches conference title after convincing win against Kennedy

The Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls’ soccer team defeated the Bloomington Kennedy Eagles 8-0 on Thursday, October 2. With the big win the Red Knights go 7-0 in conference play and are the Metro West Conference Champs. Seniors Emma Van Der Heide and Jordan Maddaus both had strong games each scoring 2 goals. The other goal scorers were Freshmen Maddie Stoks, Sophomore Maria Van Hove, Junior Aleksa Tataryn and Junior Taylor Gelling scored her first goal of the season. Senior Anna Barger along with junior Emily Schmitz and Gelling had yet another great game recording their 10th shutout of the season. “We started off strong, scored right off the bat, and scoring my first high school varsity goal felt amazing,” Gelling said.
