The BSM volleyball team had a busy week during September 22-28. On Tuesday, September 23, BSM took on conference rivals St. Louis Park in a home game winning 3-0, followed by another home game against Heritage Christian Academy, winning by the same score. As the weekend approached, the team made the short trip down to Rochester for the Rochester Century invite finishing with two wins and two losses. Senior captain Maura Lysne proved to be a lethal asset for the Red Knights in all of their six games this week. Lysne’s career as a BSM volleyball player has been filled with awards as she has received All-Conference honors and team MVP freshman through junior year. So far, her senior year has been no different. In her second year as captain, Lysne has already been given all-section honors for section 6AAA and the season hasn’t even finished. As the Red Knights faced St. Louis Park on September, 23, Lysne shone going eight for eight on serves along with eight digs and two serving assists. Because of her exceptional performances on the volleyball court and her consistency over four years she has been rightfully named BSM Athlete of the Week for September 22-28.
