On Saturday, November 16 the Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls’ hockey team improved to 2-0 on the young season as they beat Dodge County by a score of 3-2. The Red Knights (currently ranked #1 in class AA) opened the scoring 41 seconds into the second period on a goal from Kaylee Druk (Syracuse commit) and entered the third period with a commanding 3-1 lead. Dana Rasmussen (Dodge County’s leading scorer) pulled her team within one with an early third period goal, but Red Knight goaltender, Abbey Miller, was unbeatable for the final 15 minutes as Benilde hung on for the win. Senior forward, Caitlin Reilly was credited with the winning goal and the Red Knights outshot Dodge County 39-19. Up next, Benilde-St. Margaret’s will face off against Eagan on Tuesday, November 19 at 7:30 PM.
