Naas announces commitment to Connecticut

On January 30, senior boys’ hockey captain Spencer Naas announced he would continue his astonishing hockey career in college when he announced his commitment to play Division I hockey at the University of Connecticut. Naas transferred from Blake and joined the Red Knights his junior season. Naas had other options when looking to playing at higher levels, in terms of either playing at a college or university. “It kind of came down to Uconn, Ohio State and Colgate, but I was also open to playing juniors for a year to see if other opportunities would maybe open up.” Naas said.

For the season, the senior captain has made a significant difference for the Red Knights, greatly expanding the power of their offensive play, while being the team’s leading scorer with 51 points on 24 goals and 27 assists. “They have an up and coming hockey program and a great coaching staff so it was a pretty easy decision.” Naas said.
