A Glimpse Into Different Virginia Colleges

While in Virginia over memorial weekend, I had the opportunity to visit three college campuses across the state. The three colleges I visited were James Madison University, Virginia Military Institute, and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Each of these three schools are well known universities that are very different from each other. Although I spent about seven hours in the car going from school to school, it was very cool to see all these beautiful schools.

James Madison University is located in Harrisonburg, Virginia with an enrollment of about 19-20,000 students. First off, a great thing about this university is that it is a good medium sized school and it offers lots of majors and minors. Another great thing about JMU is that being located right in Harrisonburg, if there is anything you need off campus, it is a short walk to any essential you may need. The requirements needed to attend JMU are a GPA of around a 3.55, an average SAT score between 1120-1290, and an ACT score of 23-28. Overall, I thought it was a very nice school that was easy to get around and is a great medium sized school.
