Boys’ basketball defeats rival

On December 22, in the tough battle to the end, the boys’ basketball team defeated rival Holy Angels by a score of 64-62. The Red Knights seemed as if they were going to cruise to an easy victory, finishing the first half with a 34-23 lead. Holy Angels came out firing and connected most of their shots, giving them the lead in the middle of the second half and making a contest out of the game. The game was decided in the last seconds of the game when Senior guard Isaiah Zierden, who finished with 16 points, scored the game winning lay-up with two seconds left on the clock. Seniors Sanjay Lumpkin and Isaiah Gray also scored in double figures with 13 and 12, respectively. The Red Knights will face the Waconia Wildcats on December 27, who defeated the Red Knights in the section finals last year.
