On Wednesday night, juniors, seniors, and their parents packed into the theater for the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. Before the ceremony, both junior and senior applicants went through a tedious application process to get into NHS, and the ceremony recognized those accepted. Out of all the applicants, eighty juniors and sixteen seniors were selected. This ceremony also recognized last year’sNHS members as well as new chapter officers: seniors Nicole Sauer as President, Taylor Kenyon as Vice President, and Yonghun Lee as Secretary. The ceremony included signing the NHS membership ledger and the lighting of four candles: the candle of scholarship, the candle of service, the candle of leadership, and the candle of character.
