It couldn’t be better timing. This year, Halloween lands on a Friday, and school is also out due to parent-teacher conferences. Along with Saturday and Sunday, students have plenty of time to participate in various activities, from costume parties to trick-or-treating. Some may also utilize this time to catch up on homework or pass out candy. This unexpected extended weekend allows everyone to relax and enjoy this time with family and friends.
Many students share their excitement about the long weekend. Whether they have plans each day or are relaxing, there is enthusiasm all around. Since Halloween hasn’t landed on a Friday in a long time, they are especially excited to carry out traditions and activities throughout the weekend. This gives them more time to do whatever they wish without worrying about having school the next day or on Friday. Most students are not worried about conferences, but instead are ready for the long weekend ahead. Sophomore Sela Lynk notes her opinion on this long weekend. “It’s honestly great. I want more long weekends,” Lynk said.
With a variety of different responses, one thing was clear: students are looking forward to having a good time with friends. Whether this involves spending time with them all three days or attending Halloween parties together, there is plenty of time to have fun. Freshman Hailey Sarvie describes her plan to have time to hang out with friends. “On Thursday, I’m [going to] get all my homework done so I can have a really fun long weekend,” Sarvie said.
There are a variety of other activities that students are excited to participate in. These include going to Scream Town, handing out candy, and traveling. Sophomore Charlotte Joslin shares her fun plans for this extended weekend. “I will be passing out candy at my house, [having] a bonfire, and then hanging out with my friends,” Joslin said.
There is definitely no shortage of fun activities to participate in. Whether it is spending time with family, doing homework, or hanging with friends, students’ excitement for the weekend is at an all-time high. With so many ways to spend the weekend, everyone is looking forward to making new memories before having to return to school. The BSM community is eager for this weekend full of relaxation and celebration to come.
