The BSM girls’ swim team had a great performance at Prelims of the 2015 MN State A Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday, November 19.  The girls sent all of their swimmers to Finals and have four individuals/teams up for All-State recognition tomorrow.

In the 200 Free, senior captain Grace Hedin is placed 6th (1:56.35) going into the Championship Final and junior Madison Semler placed 19th (2:00.37).  In the 50 Free, Ava Schieffert (24.89) and Maria Satre (25.07) placed 9th and 13th, respectively, where they will swim in the Consolation Final.

Hedin broke the previous school record in the 100 Free, 53.73, by going 53.57 and also solidifying herself at 7th place going into the Championship Final.  Semler also swam the 500 Free, where she earned 18th (5:22.46).

The girls also had two relays that both will swim in the Championship Final and will be up for medal contention tomorrow.  Both relays consisted of Hedin, Satre, Schieffert, and Semler.  The 200 Free Relay (1:39.48) achieved the highest mark of any Red Knight individual/team of the Meet so far by placing 4th at Prelims and the 400 Free Relay (3:39.81) will also be able to be awarded with All-State medals.

The season will culminate with Finals, which will be held on Friday, November 20, at 12 noon at the University of Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota Campus.
