Students showed their support for the St. Louis Park-based McManuses by wearing orange last Thursday.

Walking the halls of BSM last Thursday, one may have seen an irregular number of students sporting the color orange. Students wore orange to show their support for St. Louis Park High School after the search was called off for Evan McManus, a SLP student, and his father Damian who disappeared while hiking near Echo Lake in Colorado last week.

Students, no matter if they knew the father and son or not, showed their support. “I didn’t know him personally, but I have a couple friends that knew him from SLP,” senior Jay Biwer said.

Recognizing the pain that SLP must be facing during this time of loss, junior Mary Kate Paulison wanted to take part in honoring Damian and Evan. “I didn’t know the family, but I know SLP is going through a hard time, and I wanted to show my support,” Paulison said.
