The girls team, who won state last year, are hoping to defend their title.

After a dominating year of going undefeated in conference play and finishing with a record of 12-3-1, the BSM girls soccer team obtained the first seed in the Section 6A bracket. They also retained their title of North Suburban Champions in it’s last year before the conference dissolves.

The team hopes they can ride their good run of form as they look to sections and state. “We consider it a great privilege to be ranked number one seed because it comes with a lot of benefits for the team. We get the home field advantage and a bye from the first game in sections and these things will help us make it as far as we can in sections and hopefully state,” junior midfielder Mimi Burns said.

BSM will play the winner of Mound Westonka High School and Watertown-Mayer High School on Thursday, October 10. They received the only bye in their section with number 2 ranked Orono playing International School of Minnesota and number 3 ranked Waconia playing Holy Family Catholic High School in the first round.
