As her friends and family watched from the Burnsville auditorium, senior Maggie McGill waved from the front of the stage at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center as the Miss Teen Minnesota crown was placed on her head. Competing against 32 other contestants from all over Minnesota, McGill is the second BSM student to win this honor, following alumnae Hannah Corbett’s victory in 2010. “When I won the crown, I was so surprised I didn’t know what to do…As I looked into the crowd, I saw my mom crying, my dad in shock. Sometimes I still have to make sure the crown is still there and that I am not dreaming,” McGill said. The Miss Minnesota Teen USA pageant was held November 24-25 at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.
