The girls’ varsity hockey team, ranked second in the state in class AA, started off their highly anticipated season with a 9-1 victory over Shakopee. Junior Kaylee Druk started off the season with a goal for the Red Knights coming early in the first period. The first period ended after goals from senior Bailey Forcier and junior Brittany Wheeler. Junior Caitlin Reilly had two goals in the second period to go along with goals from junior Ali Praus, sophomore Kippin Keller, and Wheeler for the second time. Keller had the lone goal in the third. “It was a good start to the year, and we’re ready to build off of it,” Wheeler said.
