Senior forward Christian Horn had two goals, senior forward Jake O’Borsky had three assists, and the boys’ hockey team beat the Stillwater Ponies 8-4 in their final regular season game on Saturday, Feb. 18. Horn gave BSM an early lead just over five minutes into the game, but Stillwater answered back in the final minute of the period to even the score at one. The Red Knights dominated the second period, scoring five unanswered goals in three and a half minutes, all on the power play. Stillwater scored halfway through the second, but freshman forward Chase Jungels responded two minutes later with a power play goal. The Red Knights allowed two goals in the third period, but held off the Ponies to get the victory. Senior goaltenders Isaac Melin and Anders Jecha split ice time, but Melin ended up with the win. The boys’ hockey team ended the regular season with a 19-6-0 record overall. They will face Holy Family in the first round of sections on Thursday, Feb. 23.
