Boys’ hockey defeats Knights

Peter Best, Staff Writer

In an inter-conference clash of the Knights, the boys’ hockey team beat the Irondale Knights 6-1 at the Schwan’s Super Rink in Blaine. Neither team scored in the first period, although the Red Knights compiled 15 shots on goal and held Irondale to just three. The second period saw both teams remain tied at zero until junior forwards Tj Moore and Grant Besse both scored with just over two minutes remaining in the second to put BSM up by two. The Red Knights gave up a goal one minute into the third, but came back and scored four more unanswered goals to seal the victory. Junior goaltender Justin Quale got the win and the Red Knights remained undefeated in the North Suburban Conference, improving to 13-4-0 overall.
