Redstone Grill: simply American food

Redstone+Grill%3A+simply+American+food

The smoky autumn bonfire scent floating through the air greets every guest at the crimson door of Redstone. The bonfires, boulder-stacked entry, and red brick walls add to the northern cabin style of this laid back American grill. Dim lighting, luxurious scarlet booths and a large mahogany bar invite customers to sit down, relax, and enjoy the classic American menu. With a Minnetonka and Eden Prairie location, Redstone serves everything from brunch to hand-trimmed steaks.

What the restaurant calls the “never-ending” family-style brunch is an ideal way to jumpstart Sunday mornings. Featuring thick slices of french toast with fresh fruit salad, fluffy scrambled eggs, applewood-smoked bacon, golden-brown breakfast sausage and hash browns, this delicious breakfast platter becomes sweeter with every complimentary serving.

If the never-ending brunch sounds too intimidating, Redstone’s menu also includes a classic eggs benedict with a toasted english muffin, wood grilled Canadian bacon, hollandaise, and hash browns; or choose a simple waffle served with caramelized bananas or seasonal berries and whipped cream. No matter which plate you choose you will most definitely be satisfied with the large servings.

However, if you’re settling into a lunch or dinner date, Redstone’s menu will supply you with an adequate list of possibilities. For starters, choose from several appetizer options including the jerk chicken fondue––spicy grilled jerk marinated chicken, sourdough croutons, apples, red grapes, and smoked gouda fondue––or their calamari, crisp and flavorful, tossed in a garlic and spicy pepper mix with chipotle aioli. One appetizer split for a group proves to be well worth the money, especially since they are all under 10 bucks.

Redstone’s menu contains numerous American grill favorites; the trouble only comes when deciding which one to order. You can either choose from the timeless soups or salads, or you might select one of the five burgers. Each burger is served with your choice of American, cheddar, Monterey jack, Gruyere, or blue cheese. You can also choose from several other sandwiches such as the turkey burger, the grilled steak sandwich, or the rotisserie turkey sandwich.

For the meat lover, Redstone also serves grilled chicken, pork, and steak. The backyard barbecue chicken––basted with sweet barbecue sauce––demonstrates Redstone’s ability to serve a first-rate all-American dish. Another plate to try would be the baby back ribs, half or full rack, which are slow-cooked, wood-fired and basted with barbecue sauce.

You should save enough room for dessert because Redstone offers four permanent scrumptious desserts and an occasional a special dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth. The “stone’s” chocolate cake features a rich, multiple layer chocolate cake––each layer separated by a layer of chocolate frosting––served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Another choice, the warm chocolate chip cookie sundae is served on a large hot pan with a couple scoops of ice cream on top and drizzled with chocolate fudge sauce and candied pecans.

Upon leaving Redstone, each customer feels satisfied and content knowing even though they may have spent more than expected, they had a fabulous meal. They will likely be returning soon, to try a one of Redstone’s many other filling plates.
