Harry Potter

Kelsey Myhre:
“All that time turner business blows my mind everytime I read it.”
KE:If you could marry one character, who would it be?
KM: Harry. I had the biggest crush on him when I was little. Actually, who am I kidding, I still do.
KE: What HP memorabilia do you own?
KM: I have a cloak, invisibility cloak, wizard hat, wand, glasses, and I am making myself a Gryffindor scarf.
KE: What is your favorite character?
KM: It’s really hard for me to pick, because, as weird as this sounds, I feel like they are all my friends.
KE: What’s your favorite house?
KM: Gryffindor, duh. But Hufflepuffs are the Ghandi’s of the wizarding world, as Alex Robbins says.
KE: What’s the best part of Harry Potter?
KM: It taught me so much about friendship and courage, and the value of a great book.

JJ Hafermann
KEt: What got you into Harry Potter?
JH: A love of magic…when I was ten, I almost expected a letter, ontly to crash down to a rock-solid muggle reality.
KE: What do you think is the coolest spell?
JH: Levicorpus. Being able to quickly and silently upend someone is a spell I would use often.
KE: What magical creature would you want as a pet?
JH: A hippogriff. I would train him to be friendly and sell rides on him like he’s a pony.
KE: What’s your favorite book?
JH: Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry matures as a man with the patronus.
KE: What’s your favorite house?
JH: Gryffindor. They’re the all-stars of Hogwarts. No good comes out of Slytherin, Ravenclaws are stuck up, and Hufflepuffs are the rejects of the wizarding world.
KE: If you could marry one character, who would it be?
JH: Hermione. She’s the greatest witch of her age.
KE: What’s the longest you’ve spent reading Harry Potter?
JH: I read [the seventh book] until 6:45 am, slept for 15 minutes, then went to a Kid’s triathalon, finished in the top 3, then instantly came home and finished reading. Finishing the book that fast was a far greater accomplishment.
KE: Did you ever cry reading the books?
JH: At the end of the 7th book, I almost collapsed into a nervous wreck when I realized there would be no new HP stories coming out.

Rose Geiwitz
KEt: What’s your favorite house?
RG: Slytherin because its so interesing and evil. Gryffindor…because its Gryffindor.
KE: What magical creature would you want as a pet?
RG: Fawkes the phoenix! Or a pygmy puff.
KE: If you could marry one character, who would it be? Why?
RG: Fred Weasley. Because I love him.
KE: What memorabilia do you own?
RG: I have made many wands and shirts.
KE: What’s the longest you’ve spent reading/partaking in HP activities?
RG: It never ends…

Dan Nelson
KEt: What’s the best part of Harry Potter?
DN: Mentally traveling to that magical land.
KE: What’s your favorite book?
DN: The first book. The sense of nostalgia and the chapter about quidditch gets me every time.
KE: What’s your favorite character?
DN: Ron. Everyone loves a ginger, especially as the right hand man to a needy main character.
KE: What’s your favorite Hufflepuff?
DN: They’re the oft-forgotten members of Hogwarts who I would trust with my life.
KE: What do you think is the coolest spell?
DN: My favorite charm is expecto patronum …I would produce something majestic like a manatee or iguana.
KE: If you could marry one character, who would it be? Why?
DN: Probably Angelina Johnson; I’m a fan of the sporty type.
KE: What HP memorabilia do you own?
DN: My prize HP possession is a painting…I’ve also owned a Hedwig stuffed animal.
KE: What do you think of the freshmen disregard of Harry Potter?
DN: I think they’re too full of themselves to realize the wonder and joy of HP, and I pity the fools.

David Kohler
KE: What got you into Harry Potter?
DK: Wishing I went to Hogwarts.
KE: How many times have you read each book?
DK: Double digits for each for sure, I’m not sure how many exactly.
KE: What’s your favorite book?
DK: Fourth, the Triwizard Tournament is awesome.
KE: What do you think of the Freshmen disregard of Harry Potter?
DK: Good. They don’t deserve the glory that is HP.
KE: Did you ever cry while reading the books?
DK: No, but Hedwig’s death got me close.

Erin Katopodis
KE: What’s the best part of HP?
EK: Living vicariously through the characters
KE: What’s your favorite house?
EK: Gryffindor…duh
KE: What do you think is the coolest spell?
EK: Accio, because I forget and lose a lot of things and it would be extremely helpful.
KE: What HP events have you participated in?
EK: I submitted my version of the first chapter of book 7 to an essay contest with Rachel Kaplan and I practiced with the Carleton quidditch team last year.
KE: What HP Memorabilia do you own?
EK: I got a wand for my 16th birthday. My Harry Potter snowglobe recently broke.

Melissa Plooster
KE: What’s your favorite character?
MP: Luna [Lovegood]. What a wacky, crazy, spacey person. I respect her originality.
KE: What magical power would you want to have?
MP: I’d want to be able to see the future and be like Professor Trelawny. She’s basically the coolest woman ever. Or take care of mythical creatures. I wonder if I’d ever see a unicorn.
KE: If you could marry one character, who would it be?
MP: Well, you know I’m already pretty much married to Ron.
KE: Whats the longest time you’ve spent reading/partaking in HP activities?
MP: My entire life has been devoted to that wizard.
