As the 2009 Homecoming Pepfest began, students gathered by grades, standing on the bleachers in the Great Hall, cheering and chanting. After singing the BSM fight song, the dance team started off the event and the boys’ dance team followed. As students motivated their grades to cheer the loudest, junior Kirby Puckett got on the mic and started a rap battle. Senior Itisha Alexander continued the battle by rapping a BSM rap and then choosing a student representative from each grade to rap for their class. The Pepfest ended with a the senior class winning the spirit stick and taking their victory lap around the gym before dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
