The Benilde-St. Margaret’s girls’ soccer team beat the Chanhassen Storm 3-2 on Thursday, September 18. The girls were up 2-0 in the first half with goals from Jordan Maddaus and Keara Clacko, and were feeling confident about how they were playing. “We were working on a new formation and it worked pretty well against their defense,” said Clacko. In the second half the Storm scored with 15 minutes left in the game which made it 2-1. Immediately after, the Red Knights midfielder Sophie Roux finished an easy goal on the Chanhassen keeper to make it 3-2. A few minutes later Chanhassen scored another right outside the box, and the game ended 3-2. The last 15 minutes was very intense with a series of goals and a lot of quick successions. “We changed our formation and we are still trying to get used to it which was really difficult, but we still held them,” senior Allie Coughlin said.
