The Benilde St. Margaret’s Girls’ soccer team lost to the Edina Hornets 2-1 on Monday, September 16. The Hornets came out strong and scored two goals on the Red Knights. Senior captain Emma Van Der Heide scored her first goal of the season a few minutes after the Hornets got their second. The Red Knights played hard but just couldn’t get another one past the Edina goalkeeper who played very well. The girls out shot the Hornets 17 to 6. “We outplayed the Hornets, but struggled a lot with scoring. We had 17 shots but we just couldn’t get one past the keeper,” junior Taylor Gelling said.
