Recently, BSM has welcomed a new addition to the staff. Ms. Rebecca Kolis is the new Chief Advancement Officer at BSM, supervising the Annual Fund and other fundraising events.

Previously, she worked at Be the Match, a national non-profit organization that helps people in need of bone marrow transplants. “At Be The Match Foundation, I was the Senior Director of Fundraising. I oversaw fundraising, [including] corporate fundraising events and major gift fundraising,” Kolis said.

Now at BSM, Kolis’ job is also centered around fundraising. “I oversee our whole Advancement Department, which is the fundraising part of BSM. This year, our goal is to raise 2.5 million dollars,” Kolis said.

More specifically, Kolis will be overseeing the Annual Fund, which is one of the main ways the school fundraises. “One way we raise money is through the Annual Fund, where we have a goal of 1.1 million dollars. May 19 is the Day of Giving and I am in charge of that,” Kolis said.

Kolis is very enthusiastic to interact with the BSM community, specifically getting to know the students. “I am very excited to be at a school so I can see the energy of the students and teachers, as well as seeing what the students can accomplish here at Benilde and at college or future careers,” Kolis said.
