Recently, the BSM boy’s swim team had an impressive outing at the state tournament. Among the notable performers, senior Kyle Johnson exceeded expectations in the 100 yard backstroke and the 200 yard freestyle with eighth and thirteenth place finishes respectively. As a captain, Johnson was able to push the team to new heights this season. “He was a great captain this year for the team,” sophomore Tommy McGinn said. “He definitely led by example and was essentially a coach in the water. He was the one teammate who stood out by guiding us over the course of the season and constantly encouraging us to work hard and improve our skills.” Johnson wrapped up the season going all-state in the 100 yard backstroke and received the season MVP award.
