During the last week of October, the appeal made to deny Benilde-St. Margaret’s entrance into the Metro-West Conference was rejected, and on November 1st, this decision was made public. As a result, beginning in 2014-15 school year, BSM will participate in this new conference, competing against new opponents Bloomington Jefferson, Bloomington Kennedy, Chanhassen, Chaska, and Richfield, as well as keeping old rivals from the dissolved North Suburban Conference including St. Louis Park and Robbinsdale Cooper. “The first meeting [with the other schools in the conference] was on November 4th and all went very well. There are no hard feelings [about BSM’s acceptance] and all the schools are looking forward to working with one another,” said BSM Athletics Director Jerry Pettinger.
