Students taking AP Spanish Language and Culture are set up for a successful future.

I have tried to use my high school experience to guide me to the best, most successful future that I possibly can. I have strategically chosen classes that will prepare me for real-world experiences, and I put a lot of effort into making myself seem like a promising young woman. The class that has best equipped me for not only a bright future but also with skills I can use on a daily basis is AP Spanish Language.

AP Spanish has been a difficult class for me, despite my love for it. Throughout all of elementary school, I spoke Mandarin. I got used to the flow of that language for years, but one day it got too complicated for me. I made the tough decision to switch to taking Spanish. I worked very hard to catch up to the level of my peers who had been taking the class for their entire lives. It turned out to be the best decision I could have made for myself. I ended up excelling in the language to the point where I could take an AP version of it. The AP class has taught me to have much better grammar, a better accent with the language, and better reading comprehension.

I live with the belief that everyone needs someone out in public settings that they can talk to and relate with. It strengthens the bond of humanity so much more. When language barriers are present, it truly creates a division between people. If you are able to communicate in different languages to accommodate the needs of others, it makes them feel more valued and appreciated.

Taking such an advanced language class has truly improved my Spanish. We have put an emphasis on learning correct grammar tenses, reading comprehension, and speaking fluency. That’s what the entire class is dedicated to, as you will also be tested on those things for your AP test.

Not only is the class set up to help you score well on your exam, but it is also a good resource that helps you become a more well-rounded learner of the language. Being multilingual is proven to make you a smarter person, so learning the language to the best of your ability will send you far in life. AP Spanish will provide you with many methods to strengthen your comprehension and understanding of the language, whether they be in the classroom or outside of the classroom for homework.
