Nestled in Minneapolis, the all-organic café, Parcelle, has become a popular destination due to a smoothie they make that is similar to the iconic Erewhon, Hailey Bieber smoothie. Erewhon is a famous LA grocery store where celebrities have been spotted shopping. Similar to Erewhon, Parcelle’s prices are through the roof. Parcelle opened in January of 2024, and it has shown similarities to Erewhon—even their names are printed in the same font. For a 16-oz smoothie and a spicy tuna sandwich, it totals $30, and in this economy, that’s just not accessible for many.
The star attraction is the C. R. E. A. M. smoothie. The 16-oz drink is packed with collagen peptides, aloe, strawberry, banana, coconut milk, and dates for a total of $13. Strawberry sauce and coconut milk are carefully drizzled on the inner part of the cup. This crazy expensive smoothie is devoid of any protein. Protein, a key component in helping you stay full for longer, should be expected in such a smoothie. Overall, despite thoroughly enjoying the flavorful taste and presentation of the smoothie, it’s more of a picturesque option rather than an actual filling meal.
The Spicy Tuna Panini includes canned tuna, half of a sliced ripe avocado, thinly sliced cucumbers, and a delicious herb mayo sauce, all packed on a massive slice of house-made rosemary focaccia bread. This loaded sandwich could easily feed two people. I saved half of it to have at a later time. For a whopping $16, this sandwich did not disappoint. Considering that you could split this into two meals and be completely satisfied with half, this is a more reasonable option for such a hefty price.
From the moment you step inside, the ambiance is undeniable. The subtle background music was the first component I noticed when I stepped into the building. The tunes featured Fleetwood Mac, Frank Ocean, Dominic Fike, and other R&B hits. The café is encapsulated with large windows, welcoming in natural light that brightens up the space. The inviting vibe is contagious. Whether you’re there by yourself, reading a book, or catching up with friends to grab a bite, you could stay all day.
A downside to dining at Parcelle is that the only parking available is located in parking garages that you must pay for. I parked for a total of 45 minutes and had to pay a $9 parking fee. When you’re already splurging on a fun drink and sandwich, the overpriced parking takes a toll on the whole experience.
The food menu at Parcelle isn’t long, but it proves that quality over quantity is superior. They provide an array of exotic options for breakfast, smoothies, macro bowls, sandwiches, and salads (all organic). If you’re in the area, this hidden gem is a fun splurge if you like to indulge in new foods.
