At BSM, you can find just about any club that caters to your interests and hobbies. Clubs are very popular at BSM as they have profound participation and bring the community together in numerous ways, bonding different groups of people together through their shared interests. Recently, BSM has welcomed the Fashion Club as well as the Red Knights for Heroes Club. Both of these clubs are upcoming and popular amongst students.
Red Knights for Heroes was started by Juniors Emma Rudowsky and Anna Kelm. This club offers students the opportunity to make veterans cards of gratitude which are used to brighten their days as they fight through hardships. The club is already in full swing. The group met for their first meeting and had a big turnout of many students interested in joining. The group is looking forward to doing fundraisers such as carrying people’s groceries out to their car, and are hoping for tips and donations to buy gift cards for the veterans as well as their handmade cards. Overall, the hope for this club is to help uplift veterans as they sacrifice their lives for us and our country. Kelm and Rudowsky mention how they want to give back to these veterans in little ways that can make their day and make them aware of our prayers and gratitude. “We want to brighten the lives of veterans, they are amazing, and they need some love and we’re trying to shed light on a dark place,” junior Anna Kelm said.
Another new club here at BSM is the Fashion Club. The Fashion Club has made its appearance at BSM in previous years, however in the 2023-24 school year, participation was low and club meetings did not take place. This school year, juniors Mollie Mathwig and Lilly Schilling, as well as senior Lori Weltzin, decided to start it up again, as they are passionate about fashion. The BSM Fashion Club offers students the chance to grow in their fashion sense and reuse clothes in new and creative ways. The Fashion Club is putting in an effort to spread the word about their club through social media platforms like Instagram. This club has been popular in the past, and the new owners have the same expectations for the club this year. Mathwig, Schilling, and Weltzin have high hopes and goals for this year’s Fashion Club. “My hope is to inspire people to reuse clothes, and figure out new ways to design clothes,” junior Mollie Mathwig said.
BSM offers many different opportunities and clubs for students. Students are also given the chance to start their very own club if nothing is currently speaking to them. The process of beginning a new club is fairly easy and encouraged here at BSM.
