The previews and the hype of Uncut Gems got me very excited to see this action pact movie.

The beginning for some reason takes the viewer through veins and arteries of the human body. The start of the movie was the weirdest/worst start of a movie that I have ever experienced. The beginning didn’t correlate with the plot at all; it was so strange that my friend, and I thought we were in the wrong theater. Then the plot starts. I am a huge fan of Adam Sandler, but this movie wasn’t his best, to say the least.

The Rotten Tomatoes score for this movie was 92%. I would highly disagree with this because to get that type of score the movie needs to be unreal.

After the opening sequence, the movie did not improve. The whole movie was just busy and didn’t follow a particular plotline. I was very confused if it was supposed to be about a degenerate gambler or a jewelry maker. It really didn’t make much sense. I think that the whole plot jumps back and forth way too much. At one point, Sandler is a jewelry seller that sells high price chains, diamonds, watches, etc. to famous rappers and athletes. Sandler will be researching a gem in Africa, and the next thing you know he is putting 20,000 on a sports game. The movie really doesn’t make much sense.

To me, the movie was also a little depressing. There are not many happy parts in the movie. Most of it is just sad and depressing parts about Sandler losing family or cheating on his wife. Going into the movie I was expecting a happy, go-lucky type of movie, based on the previews and reviews. Instead, I got a sad, depressing vibe. In the theater, I was just about ready to walk out. It was that bad. All things were going wrong for Sandler’s character in his life.

At the end of the movie, Sandler’s character is deep in debt. He makes a huge bet to try to get out of it. A mob is after him, and he locks them in a room while the game he bet on is taking place. He places the bet, and right away after he wins the highly-unlikely bet, he gets shot in the head and dies. I would highly recommend not going to this movie. It is not worth your time to watch, even if you think the previews look good. Out of 10, I would give it a 2.5.Â
