Blood drive doesn’t come to BSM this semester
November 25, 2019
For the first time in over thirty years, BSM’s fall blood drive will not be taking place.
The long-standing NHS-sponsored blood drive will not return this fall due to miscommunication during the scheduling process. The drive had gone unnoticed, and a new event was planned on the same day. “[The blood drive] was on the calendar six months ago and was essentially overlooked,” senior Rebecca Twite said.
Unfortunately, Benilde-St. Margaret’s was unable to find an alternate date. “Once BSM notified the blood drive that there was an event that day, the hospital was unable to reschedule because they were so busy,” senior chairman of the blood drive, Nicole Miller said.
Regardless, the blood drive will return in the spring on March 18.
