The freshman cookout is one of the many ways the Link Crew at BSM welcomes the freshmen newcomers at the school and gives them an opportunity to socialize. The cookout took place in the commons cafeteria before BSM’s football game against Irondale, where the new families were able to enjoy a hot dog meal and meet some of the upperclassmen in Link Crew. The cookout was a success with a high attendance of freshmen and their families meeting fellow Red Knights. “I think the cookout’s pretty fun. This school’s really nice because there are a lot of really nice people here,” freshman Savannah Franklin said.
