In Eden Prairie on Saturday, March 14, seniors Meghan Ortizcazarin and Jon Cadle decided to do the polar plunge as a way to raise money for kids in the Special Olympics.

They wanted to do it as a way to raise money for kids in need and also because they thought it would be something fun to do.  “Each person that was there raised at least 75 dollars or more,” Ortizcazarin said.  “We thought it was a good cause and something fun to check off our bucket list.”

The event was not too serious but also a lot of fun for the participants, as many of them dressed up in various costumes.  “A lot of people there were in costumes so there were people dressed as pirates,” Ortizcazarin said.
