School librarian organizes book club
Mrs. Laura Sylvester, the school librarian, took a survey earlier this year to learn about students reading interests. Many of the students expressed a desire for a book club, which both surprised Mrs. Sylvester and inspired her to start one. “I know it’s hard for students to find time to read for fun, so this interest was exciting to see.” said Mrs. Sylvester. The book club has regular Thursday meetings and about ten students ranging from grades 9-12. Mrs. Sylvester chose four books titles and allowed the students to vote on the two they are most interested in. The first book that the students chose was The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater.
