Triumphantly, the Benilde St. Margaret’s speech team took home two first place trophies in the 10th annual Eagle invitational speech competition this saturday the 25th. The BSM speech participants trained and practiced very hard in preparation for this event and as a result gave outstanding performances. First year speech team member, sophomore Madison Hicks earned 1st place in the poetry category as a novice. Junior Parker Breza also won a 1st place trophy in the extemporaneous speaking category in the varsity section. Although the BSM team had a very successful competition, Eden Prairie came away from the competition as the overall winners with 405 total points. The team has been revising and practicing their winning speeches for their next competition at Apple Valley, and expects to do even better.
