Ticket sales for Snowball pushed back due to lack of school

Not only did a new semester begin on Tuesday, January 21, but so did eagerness to buy tickets for the winter formal dance, Snowball, taking place Saturday, February 1 at the Sheraton Hotel behind Ridgedale in Minnetonka.

Tickets for the dance were sold at the Spirit Shop window in the Commons during all lunches originally ending on Friday after C lunch, but sales have been extended due to school being closed because of extreme cold. Tickets are $40 per person and $80 per couple. Guest forms along with table assignment sheets were also located at the Spirit Shop window at this time, as well as information on dining options for this year’s dance. The food served at Snowball will be pasta with parmesan chicken or a vegetarian option of pasta without the chicken.

The extreme cold weather has caused issues planning Snowball because of the school cancellations. “We had to cram ticket sales into one day, which is unrealistic,” Grace Coughlin, senior and Executive Board President, said.

Because school was closed last Thursday and now again this Monday and Tuesday, not all the students have paid yet. “I’d say about three-fourths of the students have paid, but we need a headcount so we can estimate the number of tables that will be needed,” Coughlin said.

All students who have not yet paid are expected to pay immediately when school resumes on Wednesday, and students who have not yet signed up but plan on attending are to email Grace Coughlin.
