Merry Christmas from the Knight Errant
Twas the day before break, and all through the school,
no one could focus, all acting like fools.
The Great Hall was ornately decorated with care,
waiting for Mr. Ola, dressed as Santa, to be there
Student had parties in most of their classes,
the peak of the day being caroling at mass.
And Secret Santas revealed themselves, giving gifts,
meanwhile Yankee Swaps has the worst kind of thrift.
Devouring cookies, cakes, and many other sweets,
BSM kids had more than enough to eat.
Elf played on SmartBoards in many a classroom,
others played trivia in Christmas sweaters and costumes.
The clock struck 2:40 and students erupted with cheers;
it would be more than two weeks before they would be back here.
So as we enjoy our break, the Knight Errant says to you
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”
(adapted from Clement Clarke Moore’s “Twas The Night Before Christmas”)
