On Thursday, March 7, St. Louis Park Emergency Program (STEP) is hosting the 13th annual Empty Bowls event at the St. Louis Park Recreation Center. The event helps capture the reality of hunger struggles going on right here in the Twin Cities. In past years, students have donated ceramic pottery to be auctioned off at the event to raise money, and this year the choir will be sharing their gifts of music. Businesses from around the metro donate time and money to make the event possible. “It’s a good event, I just think it’s a nice way to bring community members together, and it’s a simple meal that reminds us all that a lot of people in our own community don’t have all that they need,” service-learning coordinator Ms. Lisa Lenhart-Murphy said.
