The Red Knights returned to action on Feb. 12 when they took on the South Tigers in a non-conference matchup. The Red Knight’s stifling defense held South to 18 points in the first half, but the Red Knights themselves only scored 20. The lack of scoring proved costly to the Red Knights in the second half when they came up empty on multiple possessions and the Tigers were able to build a double-digit lead. The Red Knights stormed back late and cut the lead to two, but were unable to get any closer and suffered a 42-36 loss. The Red Knights failed to put a scorer in double-digits, junior Colin Polarek scored nine and freshman Matt Lilienthal scored eight, but South’s Alejandro Richardson led all scorers with 18 points. The Red Knights have now lost six in a row, but a trip to St. Francis on Friday gives the team a chance to break the streak and get back in the win column.
