Youth in Government participants spent their weekend in downtown St. Paul working at the capitol discussing the bills and proposals they have prepared over the past few months. Students were bussed to Hamline University to debate their proposals in front of an assembly, and took part in passing bills. Besides participating in debates and discussing their bills, students got to attend fun activities, such as the Youth in Government ball and the talent show. “I really liked it, it was fun to see how the government works and how potential bills are passed. It’s a good experience if you’re interested in the government for a future job,” junior Maddie Whitmore said.
