On Saturday, Jan. 5, the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Knightettes competed in their final conference meet for the 2012-2013 season at Cooper High School. The Knightettes were prepared to bring a strong performance in an effort to win a conference champion title in either jazz or kick. After every team performed, including Totino Grace, Irondale, and Fridley, the awards were announced. Junior Varsity Jazz and Varsity Jazz both took home first place titles and Varsity Kick was placed third in the competition behind Spring Lake Park (2nd) and Totino Grace (1st). The Knightettes were also awarded conference jazz champion, meaning they had the highest amount of points in their jazz dance compared to all other schools through the season. As the Knightettes’ first time ever being announced as conference champions, it was a thrilling and memorable victory for the team.
