When my favorite band books a show in my local area to perform, I immediately start fangirling with excitement. But 90 percent of the time that excitement quickly dissipates when I find out that their concert takes place at an 18 plus venue. People my age can only go to a concert if Katy Perry performs at the Excel Energy Center, but teenagers should be able to see concerts of lesser known artists. Smaller bands often get stuck in 18 plus venues, and this prevents their teenage fans from supporting them, annoying both the artist and fans. I’m not going to the concert to do anything illegal, I’m going to listen to good music.
