Benilde-St. Margaret’s hosts open houses every month for families interested in enrolling in the school, but the first major one for the year will take place the night of November 13. In previous years about 150 students have come; and for this first big open house, the admissions office is expecting even more prospective students than usual. The event will include an activities fair with student representatives, a speech from Dr. Bob Tift and mini classes where families will meet some teachers and go through “a normal school day.” A special addition for this open house, alum Alexandra Sifferlin, who now works as a journalist for time.com, will take part in a Skype session with the families. “We get about 46% of the kids from these open houses registers so they really do matter,” said Kate Leahy, the admission coordinator for the monthly open houses.

This looks like a really good event, Christine. Good article, well written, and very timely.
