The boys’ basketball team broke the century mark for the first time all season in their 103-89 victory over Irondale on Friday, Feb 17, extending their winning streak to 20 games. The Red Knights started strong, leading 53-38 at halftime. Although Irondale outscored BSM in the second half, the deficit was too much to overcome.
The Red Knights spread the wealth on offense, with four players scoring 18 points or more. Their leading scorer was senior forward Sanjay Lumpkin, who had 28 points and a couple dunks. Senior guard Isaiah Zierden continued on his hot streak as he drained seven three-pointers for the second time in just over a week, finishing the night with 23 points. The other big contributors were senior guards Will Dunn and Isaiah Gray. Dunn scored 20 points and Gray ended the night with 18 points.
The Red Knights travel to St. Francis to take on the Saints on Tuesday, February 21.
