In one of the hardest conference games of the year, the girls’ hockey team won 2-1 against the number twelve ranked Irondale Knights. Red Knight standout sophomore forward Kelly Pannek scored an early goal on the in the first two minutes, and sophomore forward Kaylee Druk scored early in the second period. While BSM did out shoot the Knights, Irondale senior goaltender Gillian McDonald was solid in net. Down by two, Irondale pressured the Red Knights with a goal from one of the top scorers in the state, sophomore forward Samantha Donovan, narrowing the lead to one. BSM held on to their lead, keeping the top ranking in the state. With 15 wins in 16 games, the team is looking to pull off one of the best records in team history. The next game for the Red Knights will be against the struggling St. Francis Fighting Saints.
