As a captain for the boys’ hockey team and a potential Mr. Hockey candidate, one would think that success would go to Jake Horton’s head. “He’s one of the most exceptional guys that I’ve ever coached,” said Mr. Pauly. Horton had been a solid, stay-at-home defenseman for the first two and a half years of his high school career, but last year, he added another dimension to his game. He exploded for 20 goals last season after moving to the front of the net on the power play. Whether or not Horton can keep up his offensive success will be key to the success of the team and his Mr. Hockey campaign.
